Brother demands pill probe into death
The brother of a man found drowned in a canal has asked for a probe into how he was able to take a drugs overdose ln his in his nursing home. A fatal accident inquiry ruled Donald Campbell committed suicide, after his body was found in the Calelonian Canal, lnverness. But his brother George wants to know how Donald who had learning difficulties -got access to the 50mgd dose of the tranquiliser lorazepan found in his blood. InvestigationGeorge,59 has been backed by Highlands & Islands MSP mary Scanlon. They have written to the procurator fiscal asking for a new investigation into hov )onald came to take the pills at the Kinmylies Lodge home where he lived. George said: "If all the evidence points to suicide, I am more than willing to accept Donald took his own life. " but i am extremely dissapointed with investigations carried out so far. " If Donald did kill himself why and how did he come to take so may lorazepan tablets ?. Surely somebody must be esponsible for him taking those drugs. Andrew Laing, Highlands and Islands area procurator fiscal said " We received a letter from Mr Campbell's MSP and will respond in due course." |
